Retail foundation
Product standards, checks and retailer approval.
Product direction
StoriTail helps retailers set reliable product standards before products enter the business. Over time, we want to connect that foundation across suppliers, warehouses, storefronts, marketplaces and new commerce channels.
Product standards, checks and retailer approval.
Trusted product information across commerce and operations.
A clearer exchange between suppliers and retailers.
This roadmap reflects our current direction and will evolve as we learn from retailers, suppliers and partners.
Foundation today
The current platform helps retailers set product standards, review supplier information and maintain a reliable catalog. Future work builds from that foundation and from real retail needs.
What it supports
Rules and product details set by the retailer
Supplier information reviewed before entry
Consistent information for search and sales
Planned direction
We are exploring connections that let StoriTail manage approved product information while Shopify, custom storefronts and marketplaces continue to handle the customer experience and transactions.

Illustrative integration flow
Subject to validationShopify remains the storefront and transaction system. StoriTail helps ensure the product information entering it follows approved categories, details and values.
Connected operations
Our direction is to make the same trusted product information useful to storefronts, warehouses, EPOS and other operational tools. StoriTail is not a warehouse or finance system; it helps those systems work from better product data.
Each system creates another product copy, another mapping and another place for product information to drift.

Card reader integrations
We are exploring connections with widely used UK card readers including SumUp, iZettle and Dojo. The aim is to link sales and stock activity to the same trusted product information used across the business.
Payments and stock activity
A future SumUp connection could link payment and stock activity to the right product. The exact inventory and reconciliation work would depend on the integration we validate.
SumUp Air
Connected checkout for growing retailers
A future Zettle connection could link sale activity to the relevant product. Real-time stock and promotion behaviour would need to be tested with the provider.

A future Dojo connection could link counter payments to the relevant product. Any stock updates or channel changes would require a defined, tested connection.
Dojo Reader
Provider support, integration scope and day-to-day behaviour will be evaluated with retailers and partners before any commitment is made.
Longer-term vision
Over time, suppliers could maintain organised product information while retailers decide how it fits their own standards. The goal is to reduce repeated spreadsheet work without taking control away from the retailer.

Open commerce standards
Clear product standards and approved information give StoriTail a practical base for future connections to emerging commerce standards, including the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP).
Open standards can make approved product information easier to discover and share, but they do not replace retailer-owned standards, checks or approval. New AI experiences may benefit later; they are not the starting point.

Roadmap principles
Future work should earn its place by helping retailers own their standards, work more efficiently and trust the product information moving through the business.
Automation may speed up preparation, but clear retailer-approved rules remain the basis for checks.
Supplier convenience must not bypass the retailer’s ownership of product details and approval.
Connections should preserve trusted product information and clear responsibilities between systems.
New destinations should use approved product information rather than create another unchecked copy.
Roadmap choices will be tested against real catalog, supplier and retail-operations problems.
